About Bruce
Business journalist, Author and Professional speaker
Bruce Sellery is the founder of Moolala, a personal finance training company with a mission to inspire people to get a handle on their money so they can live the life they want.
Prior to this new venture Bruce was an anchor at CTV’s Business News Network (BNN). He was one of the founding journalists there and over a ten year period he anchored thousands of hours of live programming and interviewed thousands of CEO’s, economists and analysts on the day’s top business stories. He covered the dot com boom and bust, the business impact of 9/11, and during his tenure as BNN’s Bureau Chief in New York City he lead the corporate crime beat, reporting on the trials of both Martha Stewart and former Worldcom CEO Bernie Ebbers.
In 2006, Bruce began the first of three seasons as host and producer of “workopolis tv”, a program devoted to the world of work. He also launched the network’s Documentary Unit and hosted specials on the future of Nuclear Energy and clothing retailer Lululemon, while overseeing production on other long form pieces that focused on topics such as Westjet, Electronic Arts and the Alberta Heritage Fund.
Other roles included reporting for CBC Newsworld Business News and Investors Online as well as serving on the Program Faculty for Don Tapsott’s book “Grown up digital: how the net generation is changing your world”.
Bruce is a sought after public speaker and has toured Canada from coast to coast delivering keynotes on business issues and personal finance.
Before moving into journalism, Bruce worked at Procter & Gamble, leading cross-functional teams in both sales and brand management. Taking on a leadership role in corporate training, Bruce headed up the design and rollout of P&G’s highly successful Diversity Training programs to 2,000 employees across the country.
He is a Commerce graduate from the Queen’s School of Business in Kingston, Ontario, is a professional member of the Canadian Association of Professional Speakers, and was a member of the Governor General’s Leadership Conference in 2008.
When Bruce isn’t on the air or on the podium, he is proud parent, a dedicated cottager, long distance runner and a devout Toronto Film Festival attendee. He has traveled extensively, throughout Central and South America, Central and Eastern Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
Now based in Calgary, Alberta Bruce founded Moolala in 2008.
Attention Book Clubs!
We know, we know. You usually read fiction. But how about changing it up a bit and bringing some Moolala into your book club? It is a great way to break the taboo around money by talking about it with people you trust.
Bruce Sellery provides his view on the benefits of Moolala and book clubs in this short video.
